50 Shades of Self Abuse - Oy!

-->  Or ... How come it is so hard to receive compliments?

Especially the ones we want to hear? I shrug them off so easily but when someone points at the flaws, I take it in and agree wholeheartedly.

I've been told we are masochistic society, receiving pleasure from our abuse.  Perhaps this is why the craze of "Fifty Shades of Grey " swept like wildfire- we are conditioned for it.

Or perhaps it's because between the time we were  taught how unattractive bragging is and being so set on achieving a goal  we lose sight of our gifts and how to celebrate them and what a healthy dose of self-confidence really looks like!
NY Times Best-Selling Author Jillian Lauren

 So I am taking a step ...

I interviewed NY Times Best Seller Jillian Lauren about her life in the harem of the Sultan of Brunei and her new book. I was told it was a really good article (thanks Mom!)

But seriously, check it here ---- It kick's ass.

How I Lived in a Harem, Married My Rock Star Husband, & Other True Stories

It's pretty awesome! Right?

The Road.

Since I was six years old we've lived on this road. Growing up I didn't know it was a famous road in an expensive community. All I cared about was that you coudl grab crabs with your hands in the bay and bike ride in under five minutes to my friends.

We've moved on the road from the last house on the left to somewhere in the middle , nearer to town, to neighbors. My favorite thing is the peace and solitute of the road , this place ogrowth and dreams in the wintertime.
